DIY Bath Salts to Make You Sparkle

Posted by on

It's bath time! Cold November is the best time to feel cosy, especially on the run up to Christmas. And how better to warm up and feel toasty with a hot bath? A hot bath with relaxing salts! Here are 6 DIY bath salt recipes - you could even wrap them up as Christmas gifts!

All you need is a handful of Epsom salts for each recipe!

Peppermint and Orange

12 drops of sweet orange essential oil (tangerine also smells amazing!) and 2 drops of peppermint essential oil.

A festive and invigorating way to enjoy your bath. The two fragrances will instantly awaken you and set you up for a Christmassy day!

Homemade Lavender Bath Salts

Add 12 drops of lavender essential oil into a jar of Epsom salts and stir!

Lavender is soothing, relaxing and smells incredible - you could also add one or two drops of purple food colouring to the bottom of the jar before adding the salts to create an ombre effect.

Eucalyptus and Vanilla Bath Salts

A 5-7 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and a tea spoon of vanilla jojoba oil.

Not only delicious to smell, but eucalyptus is a naturally anti-inflammatory and a deodorant. Vanilla jojoba will moisturize your skin.

Honey Almond Oil Bath Salts

Mix 5 drops of almond oil into your salts. While your bath is running, add 1 tablespoon of honey to the mix then add to the running water.

Almond oil contains Vitamin E which is an antioxidant. It also helps keep skin soft and supple. Honey, too, is full of antioxidants but it is also antibacterial and extremely moisturizing!

Grapefruit Bath Salts

Add about 4 drops of grapefruit essential oils to your Epsom salts. You could also add pink food colouring!

Grapefruit oil is often added to skincare products to help treat acne and prevent oily skin. It is also known to reduce the appearance of cellulite, too.

Peppermint and Cinnamon

Add 4 drops of cinnamon and 2 drops of peppermint to salts.

Another Christmassy-smelling concoction! Both peppermint and cinnamon are known as pain killers, making this blend perfect if you've had a busy day on your feet.
